Bangkok shopping

Today, I will be showing you my shopping which I did from my last visit to Thailand. These are all accessories which I bought from the street vendors there  .

This is a beautiful lavender colored handbag. This I bought from an exclusive shop in Bangkok. It is made up of fake leather. I never buy leather stuffs :). I specifically liked it for its side opening. As you can see that it opens from sideways, so this was something which caught my attention.

These are the metal earrings with embedded white stones. I chose them over the colored ones as these will go with all my outfits.

The metal and some colorful bracelets, I got from there... I can wear these daily. Absolutely love them..

The colorful neck pieces...these are my favourites. I love them as they are funky and quite suitable for the summer season ahead :) These will go well and add glamour to whites and otherwise plain clothes.

Hope you all liked it !!

Life lesson..

“hello, aunt..I hope I dint disturb you”, I called up my aunt one afternoon. “R u crazy”, she replied back with a smile. As per she, she is always happy whenever she gets any call or visitor. She came from a rural place near Dehradun but now adapted well to a big city like Delhi...
Once, I visited her place when she was doing her laundry, I thought I have disturbed her but, she left all her work and came to me. When I reminded her about the laundry, she said, “kaam to roz hota hai, tum roz nahi aati. Let’s sit and talk”. That day, I had a great time with her. I soon realize how sweet and innocent she is. She knows the true meaning of love and happiness.
I guess, we, who have this much publicized urban upbringing, always look for our happiness in the materialistic things whereas the real pleasure lies in meeting n enjoying the time with our loved ones. Thanks auntie, for teaching me this life lesson!!

Best compliment !!

It was 8 pm in my watch and we were sitting outside the main library of JU. No one was in a hurry to go back to their places. Kolkatans love their ‘adda’ sessions.  Delhi University usually takes a deserted look after 4 pm but here in JU, it remains lively even at 9 pm.

Suddenly, one of the friends suggested a game, where each of us has to tell 1 best trait of the others. We were 4 friends and it means everyone has to tell any gud thing about the other 3..

That day, I received the best and most genuine compliment of my life and it came from a friend whom I hardly knew for 2 months. He said, “when I see you, it seems life is so simple and effortless. You are so sober yet exude an aura which makes everyone comfortable in your presence”...

This compliment is special to me as it came when I was going through the worst phase of my life !!

Accessories shopping

Since, summers are approaching, I wanted to shop for some funky accessories and therefore, I headed to Kamla nagar. I guess, there’s virtually no delhiite who don’t know about K-nags market. It’s a girl’s paradise… you will get any girly stuff under the sun at the most reasonable prices…the only catch is that you have to brush your bargaining skills before shopping. I mainly shopped for bracelets and bangles.
Here’s my haul…
  • bought these wooden bracelets pieces. They look quite funky with my casual jeans and t-shirt look. It adds color to my otherwise plain look and costs 40 bucks each.
  • my heart goes to these colourful light metal bangles as soon as I saw them. These go well with the Indian as well as western wear.
  • bought this neckpiece too. I liked it for its design and color. It costs Rs 80.
  • I love the intricate design on these bangles..
  • Lastly, these colorful glass bangles..will go perfectly fine with my kurtas.
I hope, you like my haul.. Please leave your comment.

Baking a cake…

For the past 1 year, I have developed a liking for cooking and baking... and now my mom is the happiest person. So, on this Christmas, I planned to bake a cake. I instructed my mom not to enter the kitchen.. I got the recipe from internet and gather all the ingredients for a chocolate cake.
Started my baking journey, did all the right mixing of ingredients and put the mixture into the microwave. After 3 min, the baked cake was ready and it turned out to be a good fluffy one!!! Now comes, the most important part.. decoration. It has to be tempting enough to eat na.
I coated it with the chocolate sauce I made.

Decorated it with Cadbury’s gems and sprinkled grated chocolate bar at its edges.
The outcome after all the decoration. I sprinkled sugar powder onto it for the snow effect. Further, I put some leftover choco sauce in a cone and wrote ‘Merry Xmas’.
Though it dint turn out to be a perfect cake but still I thank my stars that it tastes nice for the first timer like me.

Railway station...

Have you ever imagined a non-crowded railway station and that too in Delhi..probably not even in your dreams. But, now there is one. I have got a chance to travel to Varanasi and have to catch a train from Anand Vihar railway station. To my utter surprise, the station is a master piece. It looks more like an airport than a railway station.
Perfect building, stairs, seating arrangements, drinking water…what else I could think of…
